Class Experience
In this live group piano class, students will learn beginner piano skills using Alfred’s Premier Piano Course Level 1A. Learners will explore keyboard geography, the music alphabet, basic rhythms (quarter, half, and whole notes, plus quarter rests), bar lines and measures, and an introduction to reading music on the treble and bass clefs. The class focuses on building strong foundational skills, steady rhythm, and confident note reading while learning simple songs in a fun and supportive environment. Class meets live once a week and follows a structured but friendly format. Each session begins with a brief review, followed by learning and practicing new concepts together through demonstration, discussion, and hands-on playing. Students will rotate through short one-on-one Zoom breakout rooms with the teacher for individualized feedback, then work together again in pairs or as a group to reinforce skills and help one another. My teaching style is open, encouraging, and organized, and I am available for questions throughout the class to support each learner’s progress.
